A memorial service for Bessie Agness McCarrel (Dukes) will be held Saturday, June 28, 2003 at 10:00 am at the Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, proceeding directly after the service to Sylvan Valley Cemetery, Echo Bay, where she will be laid to her eternal rest. Bessie McCarrel, 85, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2003 in Genoa City, Wisconsin, and a service was held then in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. (Ray) McCarrel in 1962. They were married on January 14, 1936. Bessie was born August 17, 1917 in Sylvan Valley (Echo Bay) Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Myrtle Blanche (Osborne) and William Henry Dukes. She is survived by one brother, Ernest Dukes (Gladys), of Sault Ste. Marie. Sister of the late John and Reba Dukes, late Henry Dukes (Lila). Bessie moved with her family to the United States in 1955, first to Pontiac, Michigan, then in 1957 to Marion, Indiana, where she resided until March 2002 when she moved to Wisconsin to live with her daughter and son-in-law Betty and Delbert Wampner. Bessie?s family includes two daughters, Betty V. Wampner (Delbert), Barbara J. Paille (Bill) and two sons, William J. (Judith), and Robert R. (Debra), grandchildren Daniel J. McCarrel (Abigail), Angela S. McCarrel, Christopher Wampner (Julie), Cindy Wampner, Delbert Wampner Jr., Corinna Carroll (William), James McCarrel, Heather R. Fuller (Michael), Dale Osborn II and great grandchildren Jason, Jennifer, Windsor, Serena, Cassandra, Corey, Savannah, Bryon, Brandon, Robbie, Billy, Elizabeth, Monica, Kyle, Seth, Andrew, Matthew, Kyla, Carmen, and Kenzie, one great great grandson Logan, many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. The family has requested that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider Willowgrove United Church, Sylvan Valley Ladies Club or Library of Choice.
