In loving memory of Barry McCartney who passed away on April 5, 2024. Barry was born on November 15, 1948, in Timmins, Ontario to the late Helen (nee Farrell) and William “Skit” McCartney.
He is survived by his wife, Diana McCartney (nee Kohls). Barry leaves behind his children: Chris (Sarah) Frappier, Chad (Jamie Sue) Fiaschetti, Jenny (Donald) Champagne and Morgan (Daniel) Fiaschetti. Adoring grandfather of Sage (Josh), Maxxim, Peyten, Miranda, Abbigail, Alayna, Chase, Heyden, Leo and Max. Dearest brother of Penny (Ray) Blum. Uncle of Jason (Kyley) Blum and Jenifer (Randy). Special great uncle of Elsa and Sheamus Blum as well as Rayann Vanderheyden. He will be fondly remembered by his fun-loving cousins and aunt from Tweed, Belleville and Kingston.
Barry began his career with the MNR at just 18 as a junior ranger. He then worked as a Forestry Tech and Firefighter.
A Celebration of Barry’s life will be held during the 2024 August Long Weekend at the new lake property Mulligan’s Bay, Chapleau, Ontario. If anyone wishes to donate in Barry’s memory, we ask you please consider contributions to be made to Chapleau Hospital Foundation.
