(May 27, 1960 - September 30, 2018) - Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Sault Area Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 58 on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Marlene was a caring and gentle soul who loved her family and friends with all she had. She showed us her true strength and undying courage this year as she endured surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and all the struggles that come with that. Despite this she was still the best most loving mom to her three daughters; Tracy (Scott and daughter Emily), Ashley (Rob) and Kailey (Devan). She was their rock and their strength when their father Dan passed away only four years ago. She found her true calling in her role as Grandma. Whether it was cheering on Alex and Cameron from the stands in the rink or at a dance recital, or cuddling up with Paisley or bringing her to the park, she loved being Gramma. She was a wonderful daughter and sister and promises to save a seat at bingo in Heaven for her mom Marge (Gordie) and her sister Cathie. She is up there waiting with her little brother Kevin. Marlene was the best Auntie that anyone could ask for; just ask Chris (Nathalie), Kevin (Lucie), Sarah (Scott), Adam (Janeane) or any of their little rugrats. She was a loyal and kind friend to Jim and his family over all these years. She will truly be missed by many other family, friends, and coworkers that she knew over the years including the two sons she never had in Chris and Dave. A private family memorial is planned with a celebration of life to come at a later date.
