It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Jean at the age of 80.
Daughter to the late George Corbett and Marion Auger (Charlie). Beloved wife to the late Leroy LaFleur (1981), and Kirk McLeod (2011). Proud mother of Tricia Arruda (late Carlos) and Gregory LaFleur (Nicole). Stepmother to Blair McLeod (Wendy). Devoted "Nanny" to Jordan, Ryan, Cole and Ethan Arruda, Samuel and Charlie LaFleur and Gavin, Caden and Emma McLeod. Predeceased by her siblings Louise Smith (Ken), Ervin Corbett (Marg), Doreen Hurdle (Floyd), Ernie Corbett, Gerald Corbett (Eileen) and Loretta Shiells (John). She is survived by her siblings Karen Scott, Sharon Boisvenue (Ron), Ed Corbett (Bonnie) and Tammie Corbett. Fondly remembered by her in-laws, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean will be fondly remembered for always speaking her mind. In her free time, she loved to travel, spend time with her friends and family and she was dedicated to her faith and belief in God. Jean was a very strong and determined woman, qualities that helped her overcome all of life's obstacles. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she loved them with all her heart. Her welcoming personality and generosity were felt by many.
The family would like to extend a thank you to her loving friends Betty-Lou, Janet, Carole and Margo who went above and beyond to support her, especially in the last few months. We would also like to thank Sylvia Arruda for her dedication, love and compassion. A special thank you also to Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Guinti, Dr. Beuhner and R.P.N. Lorraine. Thank you to A.R.C.H. for making her comfortable in her final moments. We would also like to thank all of Jean's friends and family who have reached out and kept her in their prayers.
A visitation will be held at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St E., 705-759-2522) on Thursday July 11, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. As per Jean's request, a Funeral Mass will follow on Friday July 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Family Parish. In lieu of flowers memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
