McMILLAN, Father Donald James

The family of Father Don are at peace knowing that he is now in the arms of his Saviour. He passed away peacefully at Kirkwood Place, Sudbury, Ontario.  Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Ada (nee Prosser) McMillan.  He will always be remembered as the devoted brother of George (Joyce) of Prescott , ON and Ken (Joanne) of Halifax, NS. Dear uncle of Maximilian (Shirley), Paxton (Heather), Gordon (Kara Lee), Andrea (Phil), Matthew (Shannon) and Andrew.  Great uncle to Duncan, Charlotte, Brock, Cameron, Connor, Chelsea, Alex and Ada. Predeceased by many Aunts and Uncles, Father Don will be dearly missed by his Aunt Jean Major and Aunt Doreen (McMillan)  Oldroyd.  A very special thank you to his cousins Peter and Karen Greco and all his extended family for the time spent with Don. Special friend of Olinda and Vittorio Bruno and many others with whom he shared his life.  Father Don was parish priest for many years, specifically at St. Jerome, St. Gerard Majella, St. Gregory’s in Sault Ste. Marie, St. Andrew’s, St. Patrick’s in Sudbury, Mother of God Church in Goulais River as well as the Mission Churches at Batchewana and Goulais River.  Don was a special mentor who touched many lives.  He was far ahead of his time in teaching the Lord’s ways.  He was a man who always put other people ahead of himself.  A true man of God. Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Jerome Church (26 Carmel Road) on Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass on Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pat Woods officiating.  Private inturnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Memorial donations to Mother of God Church would be appreciated by the family.
