MILLS, Newell L.

The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Newell on Friday August 6, 2021 one month shy of his ninetieth birthday. 

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, Marilyn Mills (nee Gough). Much loved Dad to Debra Roussel (Fern), Lori Smith (Tom), Rick Mills (Terry) and Bruce Mills (Tanya). Proud grandpa of Stephanie Roussel (Joe), Tara Champagne (Curt), Amy Keeley (Tim), Leigha Lystra (Nic), Candice Mills (Adrian), Katie Mills (Chase) and Spencer Smith (Claire). Newell's greatest joy was his family. He adored his 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Dear brother of Mabel, Barbara and Betty. Newell is now reunited with his parents Albert and Catherine Mills and his siblings Robert, Ralph, Donald, Ian, John, Ken, Helen and Aileen. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Newell was a dedicated railroad man and had fond memories and shared many stories of his friends and co-workers at Algoma Central Railway. As per Newell's wishes there will be cremation and a small gathering of family and friends at a later date. The family would like to thank the nurses on Sault Area Hospital 3-C and ARCH for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Cliffe and Jane, John, Joe and Nancy for their care and support.
