Suddenly on June 24, 2005 in his 69th year at Edward Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois. Proud father of William (Shawn) and grandfather of Chenoa. Loving husband of the late Sharon Anne (1982) and devoted companion of Coyla Graver. Predeceased by his parents Helen and Merville Moore and survived by brothers John (Anne) and Bill (Shelley) along with their families. Gene is survived by his mother-in-law Nora Booth and was predeceased by father-in-law E.A. Booth (2002). Also survived by his sister-in-law Marcia Candido and her children Shari (Dave) and Emma and Joe (Melissa). Gene has most recently been predeceased by his brother-in-law and friend Albert Candido (2005). Gene was a Navy Veteran and an avid collector. He made his home between Downers Grove, Illinois and Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan these last ten years. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. Visitation will be Friday, July 1 between 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Hovie Funeral Home, 568 Bingham Avenue, Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Donations to the Dialysis Unit at War Memorial Hospital, Soo, Michigan or the Dialysis Unit or Oncology Unit at the SAH would be appreciated by the family.
