It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother Fidia on Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Guelph General Hospital in her 81st year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Dionisio. Most loved mother of Paula Slater and Dennis (Anne Caminer).

Devoted Nonna to Samantha Strand (Robin), Adam and Noah Slater and Emma Morassut. Cherished sister of the late Fernando (late Anita), Antonio (Edvige), Giovanni (late Maria), the late Frank (Piera), Anna Silveri (late Ermando) and Gino (Lorraine). Sister-in-law of the late Romeo (late Maria), late Bruno (late Annie), and John Carlo (Mary). She will be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Born in Ofena, Italy, Fidia came to Canada in 1961 and lived her life devoted to her family. Fidia will be fondly remembered for her strong faith, as well as her selfless and caring nature. Her grandchildren were her absolute joy. Her generosity to family and friends, many talents, ambition, and strong spirit will be forever cherished. Private family services were held in Cambridge and Sault Ste. Marie. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum in SSM. Memorial donations (payable by cheque or on line) to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada or the St. Joseph Health Center in Guelph, Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Joe’s - 3 East O&C for the wonderful care given to mom, as well as the staff at Guelph General Hospital - 7 East for their compassion and care during her final days.
