(1928-2022)

It is with sad hearts that Maisie’s children Steve, Danny, Ann, Jill Brandow (Rory) and Jennie; grandchildren Chris, Carol, Saffron, Sarah, Kevin and Isabela; and great-grandchildren Justin, Julia and Lily mourn the passing of our Queen on December 27th. Maisie was born in London, England on March 29, 1928. Maisie was a smart, kind, and compassionate mother with a funloving nature. At 94, she easily remembered everyone’s name who cared for her, and rarely missed a “thank you”. She was an immensely proud grandmother and great-grandmother that truly was adored and respected. More than once her grandchildren physically carried her in their arms to ensure her attendance at family gatherings. Maisie’s caregivers at Shalom Village Long-Term Care in Hamilton are to be thanked for their outstanding level of care. We are grateful for their remarkable acts of kindness and commitment, not only towards our mother, but that extended to her family members. A thank you to Doctor Akladios for his compassionate approach to practicing medicine. We also want to thank her longtime friend and caregiver Brenda, for her kind heart and shared love of life. We will all miss Maisie’s loving smile, and of course, her famous Queen’s wave. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Recreation Department at Shalom Village Long-Term Care (70 Macklin St. N., Hamilton, ON L8S 3S1). A private graveside family service will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Ancaster chapel (905-648-3852).
