(April 20, 1931 – May 4, 2019) - After a life filled with laughter, love and music, Dot slipped away quietly the morning of May 4, surrounded by loving family. Dot was the youngest child of Lloyd and Margaret Jenkins. She grew up on Kohler Street with brother Bob and sisters Helen and Rita. Married to the late Terry Murphy for over 55 years, Dot was the loving and much-loved mother of Sean (Evelyn), Karen Barsanti (Richard), Mary-Lynn (Ken Baldwin), Michaela (Michael Young) and Timothy (Keith Bowser). Dot was the eternally youthful Mamà and Granny Og of Marc Barsanti, Jenn Inglis, Ryan Barsanti, Katie Paquette, Rob Barsanti, Eilish, Monica, Eamonn and Michael Murphy, and Amelia Murphy-Beaudoin. She was the fun-loving great-grandmother of Nicole, Leah and Victoria Barsanti, Mackenzie and Elizabeth Inglis, Bryson and Charleigh Barsanti, Peter and Camille Paquette, Abigail Barsanti-McLoughlin, Benjamin and Josephine Mrak, and Anna Murphy.

In recent years, Marilyn Saville became a constant companion and dear friend to Dot and her children. Dot will be remembered fondly by sisters-in-law Sally Zeppa and Monnie Pezzutto (Art) and many nieces and nephews. Throughout her life, Dot loved to entertain – from hosting dinner parties to playing her banjo at bonfire singalongs. She was an avid gardener, a talented stained-glass artist and a gifted musician, and also enjoyed skating, cross-country skiing and riding her bicycle with her many close friends.

The family deeply appreciates the loving care provided by Goulais Bay staff at Extendicare Maple View. Special thanks also to Nurse Practitioner Rita Mannarino and Dr. Yee. Friends and Family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Precious Blood Cathedral on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.  Rev. Hamish Currie Officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma District would be appreciated.
