Born February 24, 1926 in Winnipeg, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 3, 2004 at the Blind River District Health Centre. Survived by his wife Florence. Sadly missed and cherished by his loving children Gregg (wife Rose) of St Catherines, Linda (husband Leo Maurice) of Sault Ste Marie, Raymond (wife Diane) of Sudbury, Pearl (husband Ray Giroux), Karen (husband Jessie Caron), John (predeceased wife Theresa) and Joan (husband Grant Spooner)all of Blind River, Dale (wife Linda) and Roy both of Cornwall and his niece Darlene (husband Walter Bergen) of Winnipeg. He will be sadly missed by his many grandchildren Bruce (Elsie), Chad (Giselia), Stephanie (Yunior), Tiffany, Monica, Joey, Ryan, Jeff, Tony (Janice), Jenny (Mike), Joey, Jason (Amanda), Victoria (Gregg) and his great grandchildren Andrew, Bady and Zidan. Predeceased by his sister Ruth of Winnipeg. In his younger years he is fondly remembered by his children as their bus driver and the Reeve of Dean Lake. Long time veteran of the Royal Canadian Legion who served in the air force and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Well respected long time business man who owned Prosperity Cleaners and Laundry Mat in Blind River. He devoted many hours helping others and enjoyed long walks and biking. Friends may call at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service to be held Saturday, March 6 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel with Rev. Margaret Rogers officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Blind River. Donation to the CNIB would be greatly appreciated.
