Joseph Anthony "Joe" Opala passed away peacefully with family by his side at the General hospital on Monday, June 2, 2003 at the age of 79 years. Beloved husband of Jean. Loving father of Tanya (Tim Lee), Sonia (Tom Aloe), Jay (Paula), Mike (Lisa), Fran (John Scheepmaker), Rodney (Gail), Don. Very loved and cherished grandfather "Mukka Joe" to his many grandchildren. Son of the late John and Rose Opala. Brother of Raymond, John (June), Sylvia (Paul Rollin), Pauline (late John Marinich). Predeceased by Stella, Eddie, Fred, Stan and Florence. Friends may call at the Barton & Kiteley Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 165 Brock Street, on Thursday, June 5 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Norbo officiating. Memorial contributions to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane society would be appreciated by the family.
