Peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at the age of 75.

Beloved husband of Leena (nee Pulkkinen) for 51 years.  Loving father of Erin Orchard-Springer (Jeff).  Predeceased by his parents Sidney and Emily Orchard and his brother Sid Jr.  Dear brother of Joe (late Carol) and Glenda Strider (Jon).  Brother-in-law of Juhani Pulkkinen (Yvonne), Heikki Pulkkinen (Doreen), Veli Pulkkinen (Shirley) and Dyann Pulkkinen (Zeke).  He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Known for his honesty, his strong work ethic, his good nature and sense of humour, Reg always knew what was important in life - his family and his friends.  He was an intelligent and creative soul and throughout his life he took great pleasure in his woodworking and carpentry projects.  He also enjoyed photography, writing, and painting wildlife and landscapes.  He was always an avid learner and would frequently quote his own father saying “Never close your mind.  There’s always something to learn!”  He was always able to find the good in every situation and in every person, and he felt extremely blessed in the life he was given.  He adored his wife Leena, and his daughter Erin, and loved and admired his son-in-law Jeff like a son.

Reg will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him and loved him.  He was truly a wonderful man.

A private graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 4,2023 at 10 am at Greenwood Cemetery.  Pastor Brad Mittleholtz officiated.  Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Finnish Resthome or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.  Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Orchard family.
