(December 8, 1926 - August 16 , 2021)  - We waited with the angels. We waited until the call “to come” was heard. When all the promises were fulfilled, our dad gently met his Lord and Saviour.

Left to help us through it all, is our mom, dad’s precious love for over 75 years, Leona, known to many as Lily (nee Dzama).

Dad was an only child and his greatest prayer was for a large family and indeed God blessed him with 5 children Linda (Morris) Pozzebon, Larry (Wanda) Parniak, Nick Parniak, Sally Anne (Joe) Agliani and Mary Ellen (Duane) Wenmann. Over the years were to follow 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a father figure to many “farmhand sons” whom he loved as his own. Famous for his “happy hours” with extended family, friends and relatives on the “farmstead” in Prince Township, his legacy remains deep in many hearts. Even as the numbers grew, there was always room at the table.

Dad’s philosophy in life was, love one another, pray to God and thus you will be "rich”. We learnt it well for our family is strongly united especially in our efforts to keep mom and dad happy, healthy and safe. We strive towards keeping his values and traditions as a man filled with grace and dignity.

We are proud of our dad. Teacher, machinist, carpenter, dairy farmer, strawberry patch keeper, Knights of Columbus Grand Knight, Councillor and Reeve in Prince Township, Member of the Sault and Area Planning Board, and his endless hobbies and creation of projects over the years, have all granted dad the title of being our wise and talented hero.

Although he endured heart attacks, cancer and dementia, he always remained faithful to his God. With grateful hearts we thank the many health servants who gave us many more precious and cherished years with dad - PSW’s especially Sara, registered home nurses Marcie, Holly and Barb, Dr Mark Jenkins and secretary Denise, Dr. Paul Gupta, Dr. Nikki Apostle, Dr. Docheva, Davey Home Staff especially Cedar Grove 2 for their genuine care and service.

“You’ve earned your rest in a beautiful place with your merciful God. We know that you and the angels and saints will be praying for us and will be waiting at the gates of God’s garden to welcome us home again.” Jesus we trust in you.

“Rest in Peace to our beloved gift- our dad and mom’s honourable husband."
