Nora Mary Patnode (Adamo) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 14, 2002, at the age of 81. Nora was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She loved to travel and worked as a beautician in Key West, Florida, until she married Vernon Patnode (predeceased) in 1952. The family resided in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where she volunteered at St. Joseph's Catholic School as a bookkeeper during her children's education there. Eventually, in 1994, she moved to Huntington Beach, California, to be closer to her children and beloved granddaughter. Nora will be greatly missed by her two sons, Michael Patnode (Yoko) of Costa Mesa, California, Patrick Patnode of Victoria, B.C., and her daughter Susan Boraston (Geoff) of Scotts valley, California. Nora was a loving grandmother to her three grandchildren, Melissa Patnode and Angela Patnode of Marquette, Michigan, and Sara Boraston of Scotts Valley, California, with whom she shared a special bond.
