Daughter of the late Tony Aiello and the late Eda Orlando; beloved wife of the late Ronald Patterson, dear mother of Maureen Lucier (Rodd) and Stephen Patterson (Agostina), passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024 after a short battle with lung cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH), surrounded by family. Known for her quick wit and quiet words of wisdom, Rosemarie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Beloved Grammie of Sabrina Young (Paul), Genna Patterson, Monika Lucier, Alissa Pierce (Chris) and Michael Lucier. Great Grammie of Seth and Rory Young. Cherished sister of Angelo Aiello (Joanne), Marianne Wyatt (Vince), Doreen Archambeault (Burt). Sister-in-Law of the late Margaret Patterson, late Doreen and John Deluzio, the late John Patterson (Martha), late David and Carol Patterson, late Gloria Perlini (PeeWee/Jerry), Bobby Patterson (Sheila), Danny (Susan). Daughter-in-law of the late Hubert and the late Blanche Patterson. Rosemarie will be remembered as “Auntie WeeWee” by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be sadly missed by her Thursday card group and her First Cousin’s lunch group. Both providing her with many good treats, sweets and laughs! Rosemarie comes from a large extended family that is made up of special, loving and caring people who always seem to be there to help support her when she needed it most. So, large is really just a small word that best describes how they love and live. She had a special bond and fondness for her cousin Pat Novitski and her Uncle Joe Orlando.

Her camp in Havilland was a special place for her and she enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. She was a gracious host and never turned anyone away! Rosemarie was an excellent cook and was well known for her fantastic meatballs and tomato sauce and fabulous chocolate cake. But her most notable culinary accomplishments were her infamous Jello creations that graced each and every family dinner. They were loved by almost all and hated by one.

Rosemarie’s family would like to send out special thanks to Doctors Shamp and Buehner and their palliative teams; Doctors Plumly and Johns of the SAH Emergency Department; the nurses and PSW staff of 3B overflow SAH and the support staff at ARCH. Your dedication to our mother’s care and our welfare was comforting and greatly appreciated. Rosemarie’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life in the Lower Lounge at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
