August 24, 1926 – November 13, 2024
Theresa passed away peacefully at the Algoma Manor, with family by her side, in her 99th year. She is joyfully reunited with her beloved husband of 38 years, Roy Alexander Patterson (d.2000). Loving and devoted mother of Marla Lauszus (Gerald). Proud grandmother to Sarah Ellen Lauszus (Andrew Horbatuk) and Wilhelm Schick Lauszus (Marie-Kim Vallee-Houde) and great grandmother to Dean Roy Lauszus.
Predeceased by her parents Stafford and Ellen Walsh, her siblings Joseph Walsh (late Teresa), Rita Maloney (late George) and Pauline Silverthorne as well as sister in laws Marge Patterson (late Ron) and Lenore Patterson (late Raul).
Fondly remembered by her brother and sister in laws Arnold Patterson (Karen), David Patterson, Marie Patterson (late Elson), Sylvia Patterson (late Neil), Dan Danford (late Marie) and George Davis (late Joan) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Theresa grew up in the Peterborough area and graduated from Norwood High School in 1939. She went on to business college where she earned her certificate. She gained employment at General Electric as a payroll clerk and worked there for 35 years, missing but only one day. She was extremely proud of her hard work and accomplishments.
She and her husband Roy also ran a beef farm operation for 38 years. After Roy passed away Theresa eventually sold the family farm moving north to Iron Bridge to Marla and Gerald’s family home and strawberry farm. She became an essential part of her family’s strawberry farm where her work ethic and reliability continued to amaze everyone. Customers came to appreciate her efficiency, outstanding customer service skills and charming personality.
Theresa deeply enriched the lives of her family and was a constant source of support. We will miss her wisdom and the examples she set including her thoughtfulness of others, her non judgemental ways and her acceptance of everyone.
Faith was important to Theresa who was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church and molded who she became.
If desired the family appreciates donations in her memory to the Algoma Manor Auxiliary.
The family wishes to thank all the staff at Golden Birches and Algoma Manor for their professionalism, kindness and support.
A private burial will take place later at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Warsaw, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home.
