POIRIER, John

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. John Poirier in his 78th year was the beloved husband of Ellen (nee Newell) Poirier for 55 years. Loving father of Keith Poirier of Wawa and Sharon Boppre (Barry Scully) of Plattsville. Dear grandfather of Trevor (Shannon Bluhm) of Burlington. John is survived by many cousins. After his retirement from Budd Canada John enjoyed traveling in his motor home. He was a long time member of F.M.C.A. and W.I.T. and a charter member of O.T.T. He had also been a volunteer Fireman before moving to K-W in 1966. John’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 – 11 a.m. At the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener 749-8467. Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004 in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. William Johnston officiating. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery followed by a reception at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (Iona Hall).
