Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, March 10, 2018 in his 92nd year, surrounded by family.  Beloved husband of Nora (nee Cooper) of 65 years.  Loving father of Gordon (Anne), Leslie Bennett (Rev. Terry), Elizabeth Saunders (David) and Robert (Bev).  Proud grandfather of Chris (Julia) and Heather Prouse, Kate Sweeney (Alan), Will Bennett (Ruby), Nora-Beth Saunders (Joey Mercier) and Tori (Aron Coccimiglio), Cameron and Hilary Prouse.  Treasured great grandfather of Una and Oisin Sweeney.  Dear brother of the late Dr. Hewetson Prouse (late Carol).  Brother-in-law of Frances Pritchard and the late Jean Hockin (late John).  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Frank attended UTS and graduated from Royal Roads Naval College (Victoria, BC).

Frank founded Franklin Prouse Motors in Acton, ON then relocated to Sault Ste. Marie, ON in 1962.  He also purchased and operated Lock Tours Canada Boat Cruises from 1974 to 2008 and in association with that, he obtained his Minor Waters Master's (Capt.) Lic., among other achievements.  He was very actively involved in Rotary serving as President of clubs in both Acton and Sault Ste. Marie.  Frank's other community involvement included Chairmanship of the Plummer Memorial Hospital Board at the time of the amalgamation with the General Hospital, Sault College Board of Directors, and leadership involvement with the Museum Ships, Valley Camp and Norgoma and the Algoma Kinniwabi Travel Association.  He also served as Great Lakes Cruising Club Port Captain and Canadian Power and Sail Squadron Port Commander and was instrumental in re-establishing passenger cruise ship service on the Great Lakes.  He was continuously involved in the life, work and support of his faith community, Central United Church.  Frank was an avid classical music patron with the Community Concerts Association and the Algoma Conservatory.  Other interests included a very active participation in recreational boating and cruise ship travel. 

Friends are invited to visit at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm.  Funeral service to be held at the Central United Church on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:30 am.  Rev. Laurie Milito and Rev. Terry Bennett officiating.  Interment Greenwood Cemetery.  Memorial contributions to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or to Central United Church would be greatly appreciated in lieu of flowers. We sincerely thank the wonderful staff of 3C at Sault Area Hospital, Collegiate Heights and Premier Homecare Services and Arlina for their great care and compassion.
