John Vincent Raftis passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, General Site, on Sunday February 16, 2003, at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of Olivine (Dimp). Dear father of; Daniel (Andrea) of North Bay, daughter Diane (Andrew) of Sudbury, son Gerald (Donna) of Kanata, daughter Sharon of Sudbury and daughter Janice of Sudbury. Proud grandpa of; Christopher, Andrew, Karen-Anne, Thomas, Emma, Rebekah, Noah, Matthew, Benjamin and our angel Alexander. Son of the late James and Blanche Raftis. John will be sadly missed by his brother, Father Ambrose, and he is predeceased by four brothers. "Johnny" will be fondly remembered by his friends at St. Jerome's Parish. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Jerome's Church on Thursday February 20, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Hamish Currie officiating. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Unit, the St. Jerome's Parish Memorial Fund or to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sault Area Hospitals, General Site, and the Renal Dialysis Unit for their care and comfort.
