{1937- 2021} - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom Joan Rainone at the age of 84.

She was the wife and best friend of the late Sam Rainone. Mother of Tim, Steve (Marilyn), late Paul,
Mark (Kim) and the late Lori. Grandmother of Laine Bertin (Riley), Ali Rainone, Jorden Rainone (Cindy), Samantha Rainone, Joshua Rainone and Corey Rainone. Great grandmother of Elijah and Jack Bertin, Cole and Drew Dennehy, Sam and Grant Rainone, Milana Moukhaybe and the late Cruz Rainone.
Daughter of the late Everett and Margaret Kennedy (Nivens). Sister of the late Shirley Diodati (late Joe), late Garnet Kennedy, Karen Tahti (late Murray), Lois Scali and Phyllis Jarosz (Ted). Sister-in-law of the late Tony Rainone (late Florence), late Mike Rainone (Hazel), late Connie Frederick (late Evald), late Louie Rainone, late Angelina McQuire (late Neil) and the late Phyllis Miners. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Our mom was a beautiful soul in and out. She taught her children the value of education and to have a strong work ethic. Whether it was a small chore of making a bed or painting a fence your signature was on the final product. She had great empathy and understanding of the human condition. She taught her children to embrace diversity and fight racism at every turn. With the school in the front yard and Eastside rink in the backyard her house was the central hub of the neighbourhood. The household was a busy place with countless visitors each and every day. Mom was the backbone of this busy home cooking many meals daily and making countless pots of coffee. She enjoyed her gardening in her yard, playing cribbage, the beach and daily crossword puzzles. She felt blessed to see her grandchildren into adolescence and was enjoying the great-grandchildren until her health began to decline.

Her advice to her grandchildren and great grandchildren would be to Love, Live, Laugh, Cry and Dance.
Hold your friends and secrets in your heart and mind and not on some computer site. Stay close and Take Care of one another.

Special thank you to Dr. Maione, Dr. Gupta and Dr. Gravelle for their care of our mother. A private family service has already been held. Donations (payable by cheque or online) in our mom's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or ARCH. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522).  Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome to leave memories and condolences for the family.
