Teresa Scali (nee Monteleone) much loved wife and mother of 4 children passed away peacefully on Saturday August 24, 2024 at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer.

Teresa was born on March 27, 1939 in Antonimina, Reggio Calabria. Leaving behind her entire family and many dear friends, Teresa immigrated to Canada in 1965 with her husband, Joseph. They settled in Sault Ste. Marie, where they spent many wonderful years raising their daughters. Teresa cherished spending time with her family and in 2009, Teresa and Joseph relocated to Oakville to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by Joseph, her husband of 59 years. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughters, Liliana (Dennis), Delia (Stephen), and Elisa (Dave) and is now reunited with her beloved infant son, the late Rocco. She was also a proud and loving Nonna to her wonderful grandchildren Nicolas, Zachary, Ava, and Jack.

Teresa was the daughter of the late Nicola and Domenica and daughter-in-law of the late Rocco and Teresa. Dear sister to the late Maria (late Giuseppe), the late Rosa (late Nino), Nino (Caterina) and Lina (Mimmo), all of Italy. Sister-in law to the late Rosa (late Natale), the late Angelina, and Franca (late Vincenzo). Zia to the late Andrea and to many cherished nieces and nephews in both Italy and Canada. Teresa also leaves behind a large extended family in Italy that she loved dearly.

Teresa will always be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle soul. She will be dearly missed and forever treasured by her family and friends.

Many thanks to the Palliative Care team at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Special thanks to PSW, Kam for her compassion and care for Teresa and the family.

Teresa will be remembered in a private family service to take place on Wednesday August 28, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations in Teresa’s name to the Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center, would be much appreciated by the family.
