1944 – 2024

With many memories and much love, we announce the peaceful passing of Philip Noel Scarfone at the age of 79, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Loving husband and best friend of Irene Scarfone. Beloved son of the late Carmine and Catherine Scarfone of Sault. Ste. Marie. Cherished brother of the late Angelina Zarysky, Ronnie, Carmine (Nancy), Theresa, Frank and Cathy Scarfone. Caring father of Robin, the late Lonnie, the late Billy, Charlie, Tanya, Cheri, Shelley, Marjorie, Suzzanne, Kathy, Anthony, Tracey, Nancy-Jo and Sandra. Loving godfather of Brennan Roy Bertin. Papa, grandpa, GG to many, to whom he loved and cherished with his whole heart. His love truly had no bounds. Many cousins, nieces and nephews will fondly remember phil.

Phil’s love of family was evident throughout his career. Beginning at his parents’ clothing store “the Vogue Shope” in Sault Ste. Marie, he was able to gain valuable experience in customer service to become a successful salesperson. As a young adult he realized that his passion for love and family could be shared to help others understand its importance in life. He began a sales career for Beaver Homes and Cottages in 1974, and with his passion was able to become not only one of the company’s top sales associates, but he also eventually became the General Manager of Beaver Homes &Cottages. He helped many families enjoy the love that went into designing and building their family home.

Born on December 25, 1944, his passion for the “Christmas Spirit” was his internal blessing for us all. Through the years we watched his passion and his spirit of the season shine as he began collecting various Christmas figurines, houses and churches to display in his Christmas village. Everyone who had the opportunity to see him during the season could see this passion by how intricately detailed his Christmas village was displayed in his home. Phil’s middle name is Noel, which means Christmas and he definitely inspired us all to enjoy the “Spirit of the Season” and the love of family and friends.

It is certain that Phil has left an imprint on the heart of family and friends and will surely be remembered fondly by the many stories he has shared with us all. The grand intention of his stories truly was for us all to learn about life, unconditional love, and the importance of family.

A celebration of life will be planned for family and friends.
