SCHWARZ, Rick

We regret to announce the passing of Rick Schwarz on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 75.  Leaving behind his loving wife Debbie and the late Sharyn Schwarz.  He will be deeply missed by his children Kirk (Melodi), Angela Schwarz and by his step children Kevin Collar (Amanda), John Collar (Gina) and Holly Collar.  Dear brother-in-law of Reg Rye (Ruth Anne), Dean Rye (Jane), Carol Wragg (late Bill), Pam Cripps (late Cecil) and the late Margaret Lundquist (late Al).  Proud grandfather of Rudy, Bentley and Cash.  Step grandfather of Austin, Bayly and David.  Rick will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.  Rick first came to Canada from Germany when he was 12 and could not speak a word of English.  However it did not take him long to learn.  He grew up in Toronto and moved to the Sault to work at Algoma Steel where he retired after 35 years.  He wanted to keep busy so he worked at Romes where he enjoyed talking and meeting new friends.  A Celebration of Life will take place at the Gateway Community Church (155 Hugill Street) on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11 am.  Rev. Mike Michalycia officiating.  Interment Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.  Memorial contributions to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
