SHARPE, Graydon (Don) William Egglesfield

Peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Sunday, February 27th, 2022 at the age of 97. Beloved husband of Shirley (nee McBurnie) Sharpe for 74 years. Loving father of Boyde (Janet Elwgren), Brenda (Raimo Kallio) of Ottawa, Barbara (late Evald Timusk) and Beverley (Paul Ojalammi) of Sudbury. Loving son of Graydon and Hazel (Egglesfield) Sharpe, son-in-law of Boyde and Elsie(Rous) McBurnie.

Proud Grandfather of Ian Sharpe (Felecia), Andy Sharpe (Victor), Aaron Kallio (Jenn), Kari Kallio (Kristy), Mark Kallio, Evan Timusk (Jenn), Kristen Timusk (Nicholas Huffington), Katie Ojalammi and Ashley Ojalammi (Zach Ralph). Proud Great Grandfather of Olivia, Ava, Hayden, Jesse and Hadleigh. Don will also be missed by his sister Dora McCue, sister-in-law Arlene (Danny) DiPietro as well as many nieces and nephews.

Don was in the Canadian Navy during World War Two and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 78 years, spending many years as the Drum Major of the Legion Band. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and Shriners Band and marched in countless parades for both. He and the love of his life, Shirley, were married for almost 75 years and in retirement, spent six months at their Island Lake home and six months at their Clearwater home.

Special thanks to the staff of Birch One at the Davey Home for their care and compassion over the last 4 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If you wish, memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.
