It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our best friend, loving mother, grandmother and Gigi Diane Shewfelt on Friday, December 17, 2021, in her 86th year.
Predeceased by her husband Bill Shewfelt. Life partner of Walter Yakich. Loving mother to Lori (Randy) and Rick. Grandmother to Josh (Nicole), Tyler (Brenna), and Kody (Myra). Adored Gigi of Meyla and Kinsey.
Daughter of the late Ed and Pearl Keene.
Oldest sister of Louie (Karen), Elby (Marylou), Tom (Berneice), Marilynn (Jack), Karen (late Wayne), Lloyd (Lois), and Sandra (John). Sister-in-law of the late Thressa Huckson (Bill). Diane will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and by her many students from her teaching years.
Thanks to Extendicare Mapleview for the compassionate care mom received in her last days and many thanks to Luisa for everything you did to help us through this difficult time. A private family service will take place and a Celebration of Life to follow in Summer of 2022. Memorial donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society (payable online or by cheque).
