With deep sorrow, the family of Marion announce that on June 16, 2020 a beautiful Tuesday morning, Grama passed peacefully at the age of 85.
We take comfort that she was welcomed home by her late Husband and best friend Howard, and her late children Donnie Smith and Kathy Read (Brian) whom she missed every single second they were gone. And what a beautiful reunion that must have been. She will always be greatly loved, missed, and remembered by her son Jerry (Kate), her grandchildren Rachel (Jeff), Megan (Jordan), Kyle (Alyssa) and Lydia (Maverick), her great grandchildren Westyn and Kailee (Jimmy), and by her dear brother Bob Aelick (late Lorraine) as well as a great number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Cecil and Emma Aelick, and her brothers and sisters Eileen (late Neil, late Lloyd), Laura (late Cleo, late Edward), Bill (Grace), George (Noreen), and Lloyd. Friends and family may join us past the old homestead, up the 10, for a graveside service at Mountain Maple Grove Cemetery (maximum people allowed 50) at 11:00 am. on Saturday, June 20, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. During these trying times we so often forget to be thankful for the small blessings in life. We are thankful for the staff at the Sault Area Hospital and at Extendicare Van Daele Manor who always remembered to treat Grama with the dignity and respect she so justly deserved. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice as Marion was a true giver to all.
