Peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of the late Richard "Dick" Vanier. Predeceased by her parents Abraham and Julia Southwind (nee Owl); brothers and sisters Clara, Tim, Elaine, Raymond, Mary Anne, Robert, Theresa, Chris, Donna, Jennifer and survived by Rose, Sheila, Harold, Lisa and Merle.
Reunited in the spirit world with her sons and daughter (in-law) Donald (Charlotte) and Elliott. Survived by her son Robert (Lindsay). Proud and loving gramma to Paige, Brooke, Brandon, Chase, Bishop, Logan, Terrell, Denver, Miesha, Mason, Britney and Christopher; and will be missed by her great-grandchildren Axel, Emma, Oliver and Isodore. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her companions Ray and Blue.
Irene was a very sentimental person and found value in everything. Some of Irene's favorite pastimes were her love of fishing, picking blueberries, creating bead work, being on the Powwow trail with her family and of course playing Bingo.
Friends and family are invited to visit Sagamok New Community Hall in Sagamok Ontario, on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of the service the following day on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 10:00 am followed by ceremony at the New Cemetery, Sagamok, Ontario. In lieu of flowers donations made payable by cheque or online to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
