SPENCER, Whilimene “Wilma” “Willie”

Gone to be with our Lord, Wilma left us suddenly at home in Sudbury, Saturday, March 13th, 2004. Born and raised on a farm in Echo Bay, Ontario, she later moved from Detroit, Michigan to Sudbury to care for her ailing sister until her death, thence raising her two small nieces and nephews. Attending mass every day, Wilma was a devout Roman Catholic belonging to our Lady of Hope Church and life time parishioner of the former St. Clement’s Church. She was a member of the CWL and truly loved our Lord never failing to say three rosaries daily. Wilma was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and watching birds. She was also a huge Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and enjoyed Saturday outings dining with “Her friends at Swiss Chalet’s South End.” Wilma was a selfless person, always willing to give whatever was needed. She was a proud retiree of the Sudbury Public Library. She always thought everyone was the “nicest, kindest person.” She will be sorely missed.

Special Grandy to Jeannine and Jesse Liske of McKerrow and Baby Jodelin. Predeceased by parents Hector and Genevieve (Findlay) Spencer. Dear sister of Edith Brown, Pearl McCallum, Aileen Lazary and Winnifred Spencer all of Toronto, William Spencer of Florida. Predeceased by brother Hector Spencer and sisters Mabel Foran and Grace Chaput. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech St., Sudbury, Friday, March 19th 2004 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. Prayers 3 p.m. Thursday. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Friends may call 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
