At St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday, January 18, 2004. Donald Stanton of Hamilton and formerly of Sault Ste. Marie age 83 years. Beloved husband of Lois (nee Riddell) Stanton. Loving father of Dr. Eric Stanton and his wife Irene and Kathy Stanton all of Burlington. Cherished grandpa “Gus” of Michael Stanton, Lauren Stanton, Cara Stanton, Ashley Likavec, Taylor Likavec and step grandchildren Jason Worren and Ryan Worren. Dear brother of Joyce Saunders of Kingston. Don will also be sadly missed by John Likavec, Judy Mulhearn, Ian Gordon, nephew Alan, nieces Barbara, Leslie and Janice. Predeceased by his nephew Jamie. Don was a Major with the Canadian Armored Divison during WWII a commanding officer R.E.M.C.E. in Sault Ste. Marie and was a Chemical Engineer with Algoma Steel. Visitation at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW) Burlington (905-632-3333) on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 from 7 to 9 pm. Private family funeral service.
