It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of a very dearly loved, respected and devoted wife, mother and grandmother at the Sault Area Hospital (Plummer) on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at the age of 72 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Antonietta fought long and hard and managed to maintain a sunny disposition and had a smile and kind word for all. Antonietta’s quiet determination and strength was an inspiration to all who knew her. Beloved wife of Armando Stefano. Dear mother of; Frank (Marisa), Claudio (Barbara), Ralph (Rosa) and John (Amy). Dear grandmother of; Matthew, Sarah, Anthony, Lucas, Erica and Marcus. Daughter of the late Raffaele & Nicolina Mattina. Sister of; late Franca Palermo (Alfredo) and Leonardo Mattina (Beatrice). Daughter-in-law of the late Salvatore & Maria-Luisa Stefano. Sister-in-law of; late Fedele Stefano (late Elvira), late Antonio Stefano (late Maria), late Amadeo Stefano (Nicoletta), late Eugenio Stefano (Evelia), late Mario Stefano (late Litalia), late Settimio Stefano (late Angelina), late Giulio Stefano (Melina), late Orlando Stefano (late Christina), late Vittorio Stefano (Rosa), late Adolfo Stefano (Ida), Emma Novello (Paolino), Genoveffa Signorelli (late Luigi) and the late Concetta Calvano (late Francesco). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Gregory’s Church on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. with Reverend Victor Amadio officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations made to the Sault Area Hospital (Algoma Regional Cancer Clinic) would be appreciated by the family. As Antonietta requested, she was allowed to make her final journey with dignity and for that we thank Drs. D. Walde, S. Spadafora and S. Buehner and all the nursing staff of the Plummer Hospital Oncology and Palliative Care Units. Her spirit will always remain in our hearts.
