Died suddenly at home on Friday, September 23, 2005. Beloved husband of Barbara for 54 years. Loving father of Bruce, Carol (Allan), Wendy, Glenn (Pauline) and Garry (Alex), and grandfather of Casey, Ashley, Alana, Braedyn and David. Dear brother of Bud (Isabel), Rona (late Bud), Barbara (Len) and Ron (Diane). Stew was manager for Air Canada in Sault Ste. Marie for 16 years and was very involved in the community. His bon vivant personality and generous spirit touched many along the way of his life. It was Stew’s wish to be cremated. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 6:30 p.m. A reception will immediately follow where family and friends will be able to visit, share and celebrate Stew’s long and memorable life. Those unable to attend the service may drop in over the course of the evening until 9:00 pm. Stew was committed to supporting his daughter Wendy with her disability. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the “Wendy Stockfish Trust Fund” to assist with her continuing care.
