Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the age of 72.
Survived by his loving wife Judy Stong (nee White). Lovingly remembered by his children Troy (Renee), Cory & Amy. Grandfather of Darian, Seth, Christopher, Heather & Stella. Great-grandfather of Ryder. Brother of Bonnie (late Bill) Sharpe, Judy (Mario) Quaglia, late Dorothy (late Ron) McPherson & late Steven Stong. Brother-in-law of the late Ron (Vivian) White, late Sandra Williamson, late Lynn (Gary) Boyle & Sharon White. Son of the late Edward Stong & the late Margaret Stong. Son-in-law of the late Hormidas White & the late Florence White.
Bob had a passion for fixing everything from the tiniest of electronics to the most massive of machines. His talent & commitment to the safety of his crew served him well at Algoma Steel where he spent much of his career as an Electrical Foreman. An avid outdoorsman, he could frequently be found hunting, fishing, canoeing & camping all over Northern Ontario - especially Montreal River & the Bush Camp. Eternally curious, Bob had a passion for learning & exploring the land, water & air with his many boats, bikes, drones, copters & more. Endless memories were made at his Landslide oasis with family & friends. Bob was deeply loved & will be sorely missed.
As per Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service or visitation.
