SUMMERS, Marion Joyce
Passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, January 7th, 2024, in her 93rd year.
Pre-deceased by her husband Les. Beloved mother of Stephen Summers (Judy), the late Clifford Summers, and Gayle Summers. Revered Grandmother of Tricia Harper (Russ), Steven Summers, Sarah Stickels (Matt), Greg Summers (Lauren), Travis McLean, and Matthew Archibald. Great Grandmother of Molly Summers, Owen and Sophie Harper, Sara, Lily and Clover Summers and Millie and Camden Stickels. Aunt to Linda Warner (Ken) and Donnie Thompson (Mary).
Marion’s career included part-time at the General Hospital where she worked in the maternity ward. She retired from the Algoma Public Health unit where she is best remembered as a school nurse who performed eye and hearing tests and participated in immunization clinics. Her presence as the matriarch of the Summers family will be sorrowfully missed.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the staff of the Windsor Place Retirement Home for their loving care of Marion during her recent stay. Special thanks to the ICU nurses of the Sault Area Hospital who made her final hours comfortable.
At Marion’s request there will be no funeral service.
