Unexpectedly, on Monday, December 11, 2023, in Toronto at the age of 27. Beloved son of Ingrid Carlson (Andre Serafin) and Harold Tausch. Loving brother to Cameron Tausch. Loving grandson of Louise Carlson, the late Robert Carlson, the late Luise Tausch and the late Henry Tausch.
Jeremy will be fondly remembered by his uncles, aunts, cousins, and stepsister.
Jeremy had a wonderful childhood. He was born in Toronto and lived with his family in the vibrant Riverdale neighborhood for his first few years. Jeremy was a regular at Withrow Park and the many libraries and drop-in play centres within walking distance.
In the year 2000, the family moved to Sault Ste. Marie, where Jeremy formed a close circle of friends (Liam Yeomans, David St. Pierre, Ben Chow, and David Peredun). Jeremy was a brilliant student, full of curiosity and wonder.
Towards the end of high school, Jeremy began to struggle with depression and was eventually diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Despite countless attempts, the medical system was not able to help him. In the last few weeks of his life, Jeremy realized that he needed help for his drug use. He was open to attending a residential drug rehab program, but due to a tragic sequence of events, that did not happen.
The family wants to thank Jeremy's case manager, Sandi Danelon, for her caring and dedicated support in the last year of his life.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel (2357 Bloor St. W.), Toronto, Friday, December 22, 2023 at 2 p.m. until time of service in the Chapel at 3 p.m. Livestreaming of the service will be available under Jeremy’s memorial page at www.turnerporter.ca/memorials.
