It is with heavy hearts we share with you the passing of Linda J. Thompson; mom, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; on July 2, 2023 in her 76th year at the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Windsor, Ontario after a short but brave battle with cancer.

Linda was the daughter of the late Aldege and Violet Spooner and fondly remembered by her son Steven Plastino , grandsons Micheal and Matthew Plastino, daughter Cari-Lin Thurlow (Rod), granddaughters Brook-Lin (Nick), Kelly, and Taylor Thurlow, sister Florence (Bev) and half brother Bob Dawson(Jackie). Special aunt to Trudy (Ron), Steven (John), and Danny (Cori) Thompson, and many other nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by halfbrothers Calvin and Gerald Dawson.

Linda was comforted by how her family came together to support one another and help care for her during the last several months. A celebration of life will take place late summer in Sault Ste. Marie. Please reach out to the family for details. Donations in her honor/memory can be made to Transition to Betterness (T2B) (Click Here) . The care and comfort from this organization was very much appreciated and supportive while Linda was in hospice.

As Linda’s beloved dog Maggie lay by her side, we said our goodbyes and she peacefully moved on towards her next adventure.

“There’s only one place I want to go and it’s to all the places I’ve never been” - Nikki Rowe

“God saw you getting tired

when a cure was not to be.

So He closed His arms

around you and whispered ,

“Come to me”.

You didn’t deserve what

what you went through,

so He gave you rest.

God’s garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best.

And when we saw you sleeping

so peaceful and free from pain,

we could not wish you back

to suffer that again.”
