John (Robert John Tomlinson)

It’s with a heavy heart, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of John. Only 48, he leaves behind his wife Sarah (Frenette). Together for 17 years, married for 13, they were each others safe place, comfort, and home. Son of Judy and the late Ken, brother to Wendy (Andrew) and Shirley (Phillip). Son in law to Cheryl and the late Chuck Frenette. Brother-in-law to Eve and Tom, Nathan, and Allison. Uncle to Nathan (Laurie) and Megan Smith (Kevin), Abby and Sam Webb and Eddison and Genevieve Frenette. Nephew and cousin to many. He will also be missed by his Northshore Tractor family, his friends and fur babies. Affectionately known as “Big John” he was a big guy, with an even bigger heart. He lived for helping his friends. A heavy-duty diesel mechanic he could fix almost anything. Whether behind the wheel or watching from the stands he loved his race cars. John was also the guy to talk to about tractors. John grew up at Lairdcroft Farms learning all he needed to know about dairy farming from his father. This is where his love for tractors began. He was a John Deere boy from the start. His other passions were snow machining, off roading, big trucks and country music. We would like to thank the kind people who stopped to help John in his time of need. It was a comfort knowing he was not alone. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 2, 2023, at the Echo Bay Elks Hall from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Any memorial donations made to the Echo Bay Elks would be graciously appreciated.
