After a courageous fight with lung disease, Rick passed away peacefully in his home, as per his wishes, on Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Husband and best friend of Marilyn. Predeceased by his mother Leila (Travaglini) Clouthier, cherished uncle Burt Clouthier and adored grandmother Mary Ellen (Mamie) Clouthier. Beloved son-in-law of the late Georgina (Jo) and Llewellyn (Ben) Armstrong, brother-in-law to late John (Gini) and late Bruce Martin (Carol) and survived by many nieces, nephew and cousins.

Rick will be reuniting with his best friend Jimmy Barbet for heavenly motorcycle rides, his brothers-in-law for a round of golf and his in-laws for happy hour. 

Special thanks to our supportive close friends and relatives, near and far. Also, thanks to helpful neighbours as words cannot express the appreciation for the tremendous support.  Many thanks to Bayshore staff; Cindy, Nina, Stephanie, Sherri and Amelie. Special thanks to Dr. Lewis O’Brien, Dr. Brode (Toronto), Dr. L Castellani, Dr. Ipp, Dr. Wilson, Dr. Buehner, Dr. N. Apostle and Tracy Buffone NP, along with Sault Area Hospital staff in Emerg, 3C and 3B overflow for their compassion and care.

Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID, entombment and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made payable to by cheque or online to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation, Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, the Group Health Centre Foundation or Algoma Regional Community Hospice (ARCH) and would be appreciated by the family.
