It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and wife, Anna Marie Tucci, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She passed peacefully at ARCH surrounded by the love of her family on December 30th, 2022, in her 75th year.

Anna was born on October 13, 1947 in Ofena L'Aquila, Italy to her parents Elia and Quintino Domenico Silveri. At the age of seven, she, her older brother Saverio and her parents immigrated to Canada, settling in North Bay, Ontario. At the age of 20, her career in Government Services brought her to Sault Ste. Marie. She was reconnected with her many cousins from Italy and met her future husband Carmen Tucci, whom she married on May 20, 1972.

Anna was a loving, wonderful, thoughtful, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Carmen Tucci, her two loving daughters Elia Lehtinen (Denis) and Laura Tucci, and her “honeys”, her cherished grandchildren Brett and Eric Lehtinen, and Brayden and Rylan Tucci-Hoy.

Anna is predeceased by her parents, Elia and Quintino Domenico Silveri, her older brother Saverio Silveri and her sister-in-law Teresa Silveri. Anna is also predeceased by her aunt Marianna Silveri whom she loved as a sister, mother figure, and best friend. Anna loved and adored her nephews Robert Silveri and Donnie Silveri (Carol) both of North Bay and her sister-in-law Maria Naccarato (late Settimio) of Sault Ste. Marie.

Anna will be dearly missed by her close friends Carlo and Madeline D’Orazio, Yolanda and Domenic D’Orazio, whom she shared many visits with, laughing and reminiscing over all the wonderful memories made on their visits and vacations together throughout the years. You brought so much joy to our mother and truly made a profound difference in her life.

Anna will be missed greatly by her extended family members and many dear friends in both Canada and Italy.

First and foremost, Anna was a dedicated mother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. Later in life, came her grandchildren, whom she especially adored, and enjoyed her role as Nona. Her warm, cuddly bear hugs will be greatly missed. Mom had a strong Catholic faith, and loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious Italian meals for her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed a lifelong love of books and reading.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to her family doctor, Dr. Barbeau, and Oncologist Dr. Rassoulli from SAH for their kindness and care over the years, as well as the many doctors and nurses at the Algoma Cancer Clinic at Sault Area Hospital. Thank you to Dr. Shehata, her radiologist from Health Sciences North Sudbury, and to Tracey Folkard ND, for her support over the years. Thank you to Dr. Buehner, her palliative doctor, for her support and care, as we faced many challenges. Special recognition for Jason and Barb "the dream PSW team" from CBI for their warmth, patience and amazing care. Stephanie, PSW from Home Instead for her smile, and optimistic personality and Annie from Premiere Home Care Services. These support staff made a big difference in such a difficult time for our mother and our family.

To the amazing staff at ARCH, who supported our mother and the rest of our family with their compassion, warmth, kindness and smiles. Words cannot express how thankful we are for this organization and their team.
