It is with profound sadness that we announce her passing at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the age of 79. Loving mother of Deborah Trumble (Michael), Nancy Davies (late Bob), Ronald Keats (Penny) and Jane Corcoran (Jim). Proud and devoted grandma of Shannon, Shane, Lindsey, Jesse Theresa, Kaitlin and Stephanie. Great grandma of Maverick and Memphis. Daughter of the late Neta and Noah Haines. Dear sister of Irene Taylor (late Max) and the late Les Haines (Marg), Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hillie was raised in Ridgetown and moved to Thessalon in her 20’s where she raised 4 children. She retired from the Algoma Manor then moved to Sault Ste. Marie where she was an active member and volunteer of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25. She was also a proud member of the colour party. As per Hillie’s wishes a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 25 from 3 pm to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to ARCH would be appreciated. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home (MKK), Sault Area Hospital (3B & 3C) and ARCH for their compassion and loving care.
