Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 25, 2004 in her 91st year. Beloved wife and friend of the late Ray. Loving mother of Don (Connie) and Dennis (Karen). Grandmother of Raea Caruso (Steve), Brad, Greg, Josh, Amy and the late Michelle. Special great grandmother of Bradon and Brielle Caruso. Daughter of the late George and Mary Smith. Daughter-in-law of the late Alfred and Laura Vallee. Sister of Marie Rains (Laurence) and Lois-Jean See (Harold), late Sarah Haight (Walter). Sister-in-law of Rene (Tiny), Loretta Thibert (late Homer), Gert Burgess (Ken) and the late Lucien, Romeo, Levi, Maurice, Gerard and Yvette. Verna leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Barton and Kiteley Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Saturday, August 28, 2004 from 11 am until the time of the service in the chapel at 1 pm. Mrs. Janet Norman officiating. Interment to follow the service at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Richards Landing. Memorial contributions to the SAH Cancer Clinic or the SAH Oncology Unit.
