Peacefully at Extendicare Maple View on April 14, 2024, at the age of 97.

Predeceased by his wife Flora Vanderburgt. Father of Harold Vanderburgt, Betty-Anne McMullin (Gerry), Mike (Kathy), Liz Mathews (Ron), the late Larry (Tammy), and the late David Vanderburgt. Grandfather and great grandfather of many.

Son of the late Harry and Helena Vanderburgt. Survived by his brother Bill and sister Francine and predeceased by his siblings Frank, Joe, Ann and Teresa. Stepfather of Dianne Buller (Mark), the late Jerry Miller (Cathy) and the late Blaine Miller (Debbie). Uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Casey was one of a kind, he was stern when needed, but he had a soft and a gentle soul.

In the past, Casey loved bringing his family together by camping, family reunions, boating and traveling. He worked as a pipefitter for Algoma Steel and enjoyed being a member of the Legion and the Navel Vets. Casey loved to go cherry picking with his wife Flo and seeing all of his grandchildren together for special events.

Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be at a later date in Sarnia.

Thank you to all the nurses, doctors and staff at Maple View for their care and services.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Payable by cheque or online.

God saw you getting tired
When a cure was not to be.
So He closed His arms
Around you and whispered,
“Come to Me.”

You didn’t deserve what
You went through,
So He gave you rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.

And when we saw you sleeping
So peaceful and
Free from pain,
We could not wish you back
To suffer that again.
