Peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus his Savior, on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Maple View Extendicare, at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of 59 years to Ida Veltri (nee Pucci). Loving father of Mirella Irwin (Bruce), Giselle Elliott (James) and Dora Oja (Greg). Proud Nonno of Christopher Irwin (Tasha), Alison Irwin, Cara and Amy Elliott, Ashley and Amber Oja. Great grandfather of Brooke and Jase Irwin. Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Emilia Veltri; son-in-law of Maria and Angelo Pucci. Dear brother of late Omero (late Rosina), Ada Fadzio (late Michela), Anunziata Franchescini (late Silvio) and Franco Veltri (Lola). Riccardo leaves behind Ida's surviving sisters-in-laws Catarina Pucci and Edzia Pucci, as well as many nieces and nephews. A talented cabinet maker, he was born in Cosenza, Italy and moved to Sault Ste. Marie in 1959. Friends and family are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. – 705-759-2522) on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Funeral service in the chapel on Wednesday at 1 pm. Memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Gideon Society would be appreciated.
