November 30, 1936 - May 10, 2021.

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Jim Verdoni.  Loving husband of Patricia "Trisha" for 63 years.   Adored father of Linda Van Schooneveld (Ken), James (Lori McQueen) (late Amber), Anthony (Roger Allen), Lisa (Tara Thibodeau).  Cherished Papa of Matthew (Sara), Melissa, Jamie-Lynn (Benn), Andrew, Kathryn (Casey), Ayden, Erin, the late Sara and the late Scott.  Proud Great Grandfather of Mattea and Freya. Predeceased by his parents  Anthony and Annie Verdoni and his In law Tom and Marion Caron.  Loving brother of Shirley (Jack), late Geraldine (Mervin), late Sandra (late Don), Judy (Rick), Toni-Ann (Peter) and the late Gerry.  Best friend of Don and Donna Ford.  Loving brother-in-law of the Caron Family; late Sonny (Betty), late Shirley, late Ernie (late Marilyn), late Dolores (Tony), late Jimmy (Reggie), late Herb (Mary Ann), late Rick (late Carol) and the late Terry (Debbie). Favorite Uncle of many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Jim’s mischievous smile and dazzling blue eyes would light up every room he entered but it often got him into a wee bit of trouble. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to his garden so that his family was always provided for. Jim shared his outdoorsman skills and playful nature teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish from putting the worm on the hook, setting it, and reeling in the big one at Lake Matinenda.  Jim shared a special bond with his great granddaughters delighting them with his laugh and smile every time he saw them.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to his family, friends and neighbours but he was most helpful at home as the best dishwasher ever.

Due to COVID restrictions, a Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E 705-759-2522).  Memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer's Society or to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Please visit Arthur Funeral Home website obituaries to leave memories and condolences as a keepsake for the family.
