The gentlest person we will ever know was also the strongest; we love her so very much! Anne Waas passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 in her home at the age of 89. She was born in Thalham, Germany and immigrated to Canada with Rupert Waas in the 50’s. Her first job was at the Davey Home. She went to Toronto to become a nurse and work at the hospital here in the Sault. Her passion for fabric, knitting and needle arts led to her starting the Anwa Shop in the Churchill Plaza. She loved working with her customers and she was talented in so many ways, feeding family, friends, animals and birds, painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting, skiing and walking in nature. She had a love of going into the mountains and travelled the world happily and extensively. Predeceased by the love of her life Rupert Waas. Most loved mom of Sonya Barnett (Robert) and Joseph Waas (late Maggie Pouw). Loving grandma of Christopher Barnett (Elisa Kuhlenbaumer), Matthew Barnett (Noelle Stratton), Jesse Pouw Waas (Bobi Jo), Jacob Pouw Waas and Hanna Pouw Waas. Dear sister of Hilde Stadler (late Walter), Carol Lainer (Henry Sr), late Josef Berghammer (late Heidi), late Siegfried Berghammer, Heidi Nott (late Ted), Janie Conrad (late Rene) and Isolde Felbinger (late Helmut).
