The chuck of the lathe stopped spinning and came to rest a final time as he designed and completed the last piece of his life.

It is with great sadness that our family announces our father Dale (Richard) passed away. On September 30th 2014 Dad lost his wife and love of his life Beverley Joan . His heart was broken and his life was never the same. Happily wed for 46 years he longed for the day they would be together again.

Dale is survived by his sister Sylvia Graham (Donald), and brother Chris (late Jackie). He is predeceased by brother Barry (Anne). Here to grieve his loss are his children Duane (Mary Ellen), Tracy (Eric) , Mavis, Lyndon (Mary Ann), and Kevin (Sherry).

Grandfather of; Adam (Megan), Tyler (Brittany), Dustin, Ellissa (Shawn), Greg, Paul (Nichole), Alexandria (Erik), Dale (Kristine), Joshua (Kelsey), Alaura (Brendan), Michael, Matthew, and David.

Great-grandfather of; Savannah, Adelina, Ethan, Brielle, Pierce, Scarlett, Ares, Avry, Alexis, Grayson, Quinn, Atlas, Evelett, Beverly, Rob, and Theo.

Dad was a man of many creative talents and he loved all things mechanical. His hands created many unusual projects and machines through the years. Contraptions and gizmos that family and friends talk about to this day.

As a tool and die maker, some of those talents led to a small contribution toward the US space program's moon landing in 1969. Over the years, he also designed and built an airplane, a tugboat, jet powered land and ice car, and several go-carts for his grandchildren. He was proud to pass many of those talents on to his children over the years. His family was very important and he usually started a piece of advice with a famous catchphrase like, "I'LL TELL YOU WHAT" or " YOU MUST HAVE BEEN TALKING WHEN YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN LISTENING', or the most famous of all "YOU DON'T DRINK TO BE STUPID".  Advice we all followed for the most part.

We would like to thank all of his dear friends and the many caregivers who made Dad's final days in his beloved home on St.Joe's Island possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made by cheque or online to the Dr. H. S. Trefrey Memorial Centre, Richards Landing, Ontario
