It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our mother, Rose Whent, in her home on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Rose cherished her family and friends above all else and is survived by many loved ones. She is survived by two of her siblings Frank and Mary, her sons and their families and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as much extended family. Born in White River, Ontario as Rose Starzynski, where she later married Gerald Whent and together raised 3 sons, Richard, Jerry and Tom. The family moved to Sault Ste. Marie in the 1970’s and Jerry later moved to North Carolina to start his own family. At Rose’s request, her ashes will be interred alongside of those of her husband without fanfare. Our mother is now at rest with her beloved husband Gerald (1998) and son Jerry (2016). She was truly heartbroken at their passing. Rose cherished the time she spent in life with those she cared for, as she often wrote about in her journals. In memory of her, we ask you to remember those times.
