August 13, 1930 – July 15, 2022.

Peacefully, Elsie has gone to spend eternity with her Lord whom she served faithfully for over 60 years as a church organist. In life, she played for many weddings & funerals, & played in many of the Sault’s churches. She led church choirs & was director & accompanist for 22 years of a women’s chorus called “The Triads”. She was a volunteer at the Plummer Hospital & on the Board of the Sault Symphony, helping to raise money for both. Before retiring, she worked in the Engineering Dept. of Algoma Steel where she met and married the late Peter Williamson. She was a loving mother to her son, Brian. Daughter of the late George & Gertrude (Nee Scott) Merrifield. Sister of the late Mildred Merrifield, the late Norman (late Iola), late Gordon (late Hope), late Leonard (late Kay) of Mississauga. The late Jean Smith (Late Bob) of Sinclairville NY. Sister-in-law of the late Joyce Merrifield of Scarborough Ontario. Daughter-in-law of the late Annie Williamson of Lindsey. Sister-in-law of the late Betty Smith (late Les) of Lindsey, Ontario, late Dorothy Ireland (Late Bill) of Sault Ste. Marie. Loving aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt of many. 

Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522) for a viewing on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until time of service in the chapel at 12:00 Noon with Rev Dr. J DeVries officiating.
