November 12, 1930 – August 28, 2022 - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie in her 92nd year.
Dear wife to the late Dunny Wood. Proud mother of David (Catherine), Cathy (Cory), Jimmy (Cathy) and Bob. Sister of the late Bob Bayles (Rita). Cherished grandmother of Devin, Racheal, Cory (Kari), Matthew (Amy), Jesse (Heather), James (Megan), Justin, Carson and Kimberly. Great grandmother of Kaylin (Gaetan), Sophia, Lia, Kyra, Olivia, Dean, Claire, MacKenzie, Austin, Koltyn, Kashton and Lilah. Great aunt, Cousin and friend to many.
Marie graduated nursing school in Ottawa, shortly before being married to Dunny for almost 50 years. Marie worked as a public health school nurse, but first and foremost she was a mother. She lived in Sault Ste. Marie for most of her life, including a short period where she and Dunny lived in London, Ontario. In her spare time Marie enjoyed volunteering for Christmas Cheer where she would repair toys for children. Marie enjoyed spending her summers at her camp with her family. She loved to entertain and always had an open door policy. Marie also really enjoyed travelling, where she visited many places over the years.
As per Marie’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522). In lieu of flowers memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
