Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on August 12, 2024. Loving mother of Sheree (Ron Sonke), Tom (Lynda), and Terry (Jodi). Proud grandmother of Jessica Oldham (Joey), Stephanie Rossi (Matt), Tayler Sonke (Kaleb), and Conner Sonke (Harleen). Great grandmother of Sam and Roz Oldham and Michelle Rossi. Predeceased by her parents Jean and Don Leahy. Loving sister of Fran Lomano (late Frank), late Vivian O’Connor (late Greg), Don Leahy (Fran), Terry Leahy (Giesela), and Lorna Lumsden (Dave). Special Auntie Lois to Ron, Chris, and Lorna Lomano; Perry and Jason O’Connor, Jonathan and Landon Leahy; Ashley Leahy and Michelle Cherwinsk; and Grant and Lisa Lumsden. Beloved sister-in-law of Arlene Wright, and special friend of Mary Beauchamp, Brenda LaCrosse, and Lionella Pontoni.
Lois was a woman of style, grace, and strength. Independent and hard-working, Lois’s favourite pastimes included chatting with friends over a cup of coffee, spending time with family, shopping at Jasmine, cooking a turkey and the fixings, baking blueberry and apple pies, and talking on the phone with her siblings; but nothing gave her more joy than dusting, scrubbing floors, vacuuming, and washing windows and walls. She was definitely our ‘cleaning lady extraordinaire’!
